How much does it cost to have a rug or stair runner created?

The price to have a rug or stair runner created depends on the size of your carpet and the edging style you chose. Our prices start at £7.00 per linear metre. Please contact us for a customised quote.

If you are a Trade customer, please contact us for a Trade price list.

Can I have a shaped rug created?

Yes, we can create shaped pieces suitable for caravans, motorhomes, and boats.

Do I need to book an appointment to have my carpet edged?

No, if you are leaving your carpet with us, you can deliver it to us any time during our opening hours.

 

However, if you wish to use our while-you-wait service, please contact us first to arrange an appointment.

What carpet edging styles are available?

We offer carpet whipping, tape binding, and narrow-tape binding.

What is the difference between tape binding and narrow-tape       binding?

Tape binding is border with approximately 55m of tape visible.

Narrow-tape binding is border with approximately 5mm of tape visible.

Does carpet edging add any width to the carpet?

No, the carpet edging styles do not add any width to the carpet edges. The carpet edging is stitched to the edge of the carpet sides.

What are your opening hours?

We are open from 8.30 am to 5.00 pm, Monday to Friday.

Do I need to supply the carpet?

Yes, we do not sell carpet so you will need to purchase carpet from a carpet shop. We work closely with a large number of carpet retailers so we can advise you on the best shop to purchase carpet from in your area.

Is there a minimum or maximum size carpet you can edge?

No, we can edge any size carpet. However, if your carpet is large (over 4m x 4m) then please contact us first to discuss your requirements.

Does your while-you-wait service cost more?

No, our while-you wait service is charged at the same rate as our other services.

What is the difference between carpet whipping and tape binding?

Carpet whipping is a traditional style featuring a woollen yarn which is overlocked to the edge of a carpet. It is a simple, affordable edging style suitable for all carpet types.

 

Tape binding is a more contemporary style featuring binding tape which is folded and professional hand-stitched to the edge of the carpet. It is a premium, durable edging style suitable for low-pile (short) carpet types.

Can I have an existing rug altered/ restored?

Yes, we can alter the shape or size of a rug and replace the edging if required.

Is there car parking available at your site?

Yes, there is free car parking directly outside our workshop.

Does my carpet need to be cut-to-size before it can be edged?

No, we can cut your carpet to any size or shape to meet your requirements.

How can I transport the carpet to you?

If you live local to us, you can deliver the carpet to our workshop and then collect it from us once it is ready within 3-5 working days.

 

Alternatively, you can arrange a while-you-wait appointment and we will edge your carpet within 1-2 hours so that you can take it home the same day.

 

If you live further afield, we can arrange a courier to collect your carpet and deliver it back to you once it is ready. Please view Nationwide Collection & Delivery for more information and prices.

How long do while-you-wait appointments take?

While-you-wait appointments usually take between 1-2 hours depending on the size and shape of the rug or runner.

Complex and/or large jobs may not be suitable for a while-you-wait appointment.

How can I view your carpet edging styles?

You can visit our workshop to view our carpet edging styles or alternatively you can order free samples of our binding tapes directly from our website here.

Which carpet edging style is suitable for my home?

All of our carpet edging styles are hard-wearing making them a suitable option for homes with children and pets. The style you chose will depend on your personal style preference.
